Hohlbein competes in USAC doubleheader in Indiana
Cleveland, Ohio’s Abby Hohlbein ventured into Indiana over the weekend as the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship campaign continued to intensify.
Competing in Friday’s Larry Rice Classic at Bloomington Speedway, Hohlbein finished ninth in her heat race, sending her to the semi-feature. Needing a top-four finish to advance, she came up short with an 11th-place result and shifted her focus to Saturday.
On Saturday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt for the Spring Showdown, Hohlbein recorded the 24th-fastest time in her qualifying group before finishing seventh in her heat. Facing a deep starting spot in the consolation race, she ultimately elected to withdraw from the remainder of the evening.
